Reference: BBBH117660_1788420834Senior Underground GeologistNorthwestern Ontario | Full-Time, Permanent | 14/14, 7/7 or 5/2-4/3 RotationWe are partnering with an established North American precious metals producer to find a Senior Underground Geologist for their residential mine site in Northwestern Ontario. Reporting to the Chief Geologist, you will lead and direct all underground geological activities related to the ongoing development of the operation, including ore control, reserve definition drilling, underground mine exploration and reconciliation.The OpportunityYou will take the lead on all underground geology activities on site, providing leadership and direction to the mine geology group while establishing and prioritising activities to meet both short-term and strategic goals. This includes maximising recovery of the current reserve and identifying new resources for conversion into reserves, with oversight of ore control, short range modelling, the geological database, month-end reporting and reconciliation. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a flexible rotation and strong potential for career progression.Key ResponsibilitiesImplement best practices with respect to resource modelling and ore controlWork alongside the Chief Geologist to ensure achievement of departmental and operational goalsEnsure the team works in accordance with all site safety proceduresMaintain daily communication with engineering, mine operations and contractorsOversee activities related to the modelling and examination of geological dataOversee consulting requirements supporting the grade control processImplement best practices around software usage, data management and file managementComplete daily, weekly and monthly reportingEnsure QA/QC protocols are in place, followed and monitoredParticipate in coaching, mentorship and evaluation of non-technical staffAssist in all aspects of production and other key mine areas as requiredAssist with open pit geology activities as requiredAbout YouQualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Geology, Geological Engineering or a related fieldRegistered or able to register as a GIT or P.Geo in OntarioMinimum of 5-10 years' experience in mining, with underground mining experience preferredDemonstrated knowledge of ore control, drill programs, resource estimation processes, mapping and reconciliationTechnical SkillsStrong interdepartmental communication skillsProven ability to lead, manage and mentor a technical teamKnowledge of Leapfrog and Deswik packages preferredPersonal AttributesAble to change and re-prioritise tasks as new information is gatheredStrong ability to self-learn and adapt in a fast-paced environmentLeads by example with a demonstrated commitment to safe working practicesComfortable working on a rotational schedule in a remote, residential site environmentWhat's on OfferPermanent, full-time position with a competitive salary range of approximately $120,000-$150,000Choice of rotation: 14/14, 7/7 or 5/2-4/3Quarterly incentive program and restricted share unit grantsExtended health and dental benefits, plus short- and long-term disability insuranceDefined matching contribution retirement savings plan and annual health spending accountCamp, travel and meals providedLocationBased at a residential mine site in Northwestern Ontario, with a flexible rotational schedule.
